Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) spending programme
Certain developments in Pagham (non-strategic sites) attract the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). This is a charge paid by developers at outset of development, which is spent on infrastructure needed as a result of the development taking place. The Levy is split between the District Council and Parish Council. Our share is 15%. It must be spent within 5 years of receipt.
Projects funded by CIL should meet the following criteria:
- providing, replacing, improving, operating or maintaining infrastructure that supports development in the area; or
- anything else concerned with addressing the demands that development places on the area.
The Council is required to publish an annual return showing amounts collected and spent on CIL.
We are always interested in hearing from residents about projects or improvements they’d like to see take place in the village, for which CIL funding might be appropriate.
